Reusing press-on nails: how to wear your set three to five times

Press-on nagels hergebruiken

Throw away a set of press-on nails after one evening? What a waste. Our handmade soft gel sets are made to be worn more than once. Remove them carefully and store them properly in the box, and they'll last three to five wears. That's kinder to your wallet and a lot more sustainable too. Here's how.

Reusing press-on nails starts with removal

The most important rule for reuse is also the simplest. Never pull your nails off dry. Soak your hands for a few minutes in warm water with a little soap and lift the nail from the side with the cuticle pusher. That keeps the inside of the nail intact and the nail keeps its shape and shine. The whole method is on our How it works page.

Clean the inside

Gently roll old adhesive tab residue off with your thumb. If something is stubborn, let the nail soak a little longer and rub softly with a cloth. Don't use sharp objects. You want to keep the inside smooth, because that's where the next adhesive tab will go.

Store them in the box

The box protects your nails from scratches and dust. Put them back in size and order and you'll apply them even faster next time. Don't let them roam loose in a make-up bag, because they bend and scratch easily there.

Fresh adhesive tabs for every wear

The nails are reusable, the adhesive tabs are not. Use a fresh adhesive tab on your own nail every time. Every set includes 150 adhesive tabs, so you won't run out quickly. Wipe your nail free of oil beforehand with an alcohol pad, just as in the application steps on our How it works page.

What does it do for the cost?

Wear a set three to five times and the cost per wear is a fraction of what a salon visit costs. On top of that, you don't need an appointment, travel time or an hour and a half to two hours in the chair.

Build a small collection

A handy trick is to slowly build up a set for each occasion. A calm nude for weekdays, something playful for the weekend and a statement for special days. That way no single set wears out quickly and you always have something suitable ready. Need inspiration? Have a look at our everyday sets or the French nails.

When is it time to stop?

Notice the edges are worn or a nail no longer sits nicely? Then it's time for a new one. With daily wear that happens by itself after a few wears. The spare nails in your box help you a long way.

Good to know

Reusing works best if you apply the nails carefully the first time. Press too hard on an edge or peel an adhesive tab off roughly and the nail can warp. Take your time and your set will sit neatly in its box, ready for the next occasion.

Frequently asked questions

How often can I reuse my press-on nails?

Three to five times, as long as you remove them carefully and store them in the box.

Can I reuse the same adhesive tabs?

No, use new adhesive tabs for every wear. Only then do they stick properly.

Can I use acetone to remove residue?

We advise against it. A little oil or warm water works well and is gentler on the soft gel.

How long does a set stay on my nails?

With adhesive tabs one to two weeks, about ten days on average.
