Ordering & choosing
What size do I need?
Take our size check: within a minute you'll know which size and shape suit you. Prefer to measure yourself? On the same page you'll find the size chart with the width per finger in millimetres. Note: the sizes refer to the width of your nail; you choose the length with the shape. In doubt? Go for the starter set: it contains every size from S to L, so you can find the perfect fit for each finger at home.
What's in the beginner set?
Every size from S to L, plus everything you need to get started: alcohol pads for prepping, a nail file, a cuticle stick and special glue tabs for reuse. The ideal introduction to press-ons.
Which shape suits my hands?
Round and Oval Short are subtle and perfect for every day. Oval Long makes your fingers look longer and more elegant. Square Short looks modern and sharp. In terms of length, from short to long: Round is the shortest, then Oval Short, then Square Short, and Oval Long is the longest. Can't decide? Our shape test gives you personal advice in one minute.
Can I try the nails on virtually first?
Yes! Upload a photo of your hand to our virtual try-on and see within about ten seconds how a design looks on your nails. No more guesswork.
Your sets are handmade: what does that mean for my order?
Every set is built up and painted by hand, layer by layer. That means no two sets are exactly alike, which is precisely their charm. Do bear in mind that production can take a few days before your order ships, and that popular designs sometimes sell out: when they're gone, they're gone.
Can I get a design in a different shape or length?
Because we make everything ourselves, more is often possible than you'd think. Email your wish to support@ladeleofficial.com before you order. Please note: custom work made especially at your request falls outside the right of withdrawal.
Will the colour differ from what I see on the website?
We photograph our sets as true to life as possible, but because of the handwork and your screen settings a colour or finish can differ slightly in real life. It also makes your set that little bit unique.
Shipping & returns
What are the shipping costs and delivery times?
We ship worldwide from the Netherlands. Within the Netherlands your parcel usually arrives 1 to 3 working days after dispatch; in Belgium, Germany and France 2 to 3 working days; everywhere else 2 to 14 days, depending on the country. Because every set is made by hand, some production time may be added. Shipping is free on orders over €50 (or the local equivalent); below that it's €4.95. As soon as your order is on its way, you'll receive tracking details by email.
I ordered the wrong size: what now?
No panic. Is the set still unworn and complete? Then let us know within 14 days of receipt via support@ladeleofficial.com, return the set and order the right size. Tip for next time: take the size check first, or start with the beginner set that includes all sizes.
What is your returns policy?
You have 14 days to change your mind after receipt. You can return your order as long as the set is unworn and you send everything back complete: original packaging, glue tabs, buffer, cuticle stick and alcohol wipes. We check every return for signs of use; for hygiene reasons we can't take back worn nails. The cost of the return shipment is yours. Read the full returns policy.
Do you ship to my country?
Almost certainly: we ship worldwide. For Belgium, Germany and France allow 2 to 3 working days after dispatch; for all other countries 2 to 14 days, depending on the country. And you never pay extra import charges: outside the EU we handle all import duties and taxes for you (DDP), so the price at checkout is the price. Nothing to pay on delivery. Ordering from Ireland? Everything about delivery, sizes and customs (there are none) is on our Ireland page.
Applying
How do I apply the nails?
Done in 10 minutes. The three most important steps: clean your nails and make them oil-free with the alcohol pad, choose the right size, and press each nail down firmly for 15 to 30 seconds, working from the centre outwards. You'll find the complete 9-step guide on How it works.
How long do the nails stay on?
With the glue tabs supplied, 5 to 7 days on average, and the better your prep, the longer they last. Want to wear them for weeks on end? Then you can use nail glue, but keep in mind that reusing them becomes harder.
Glue tabs or nail glue: which should I choose?
We supply glue tabs as standard: they're kind to your own nails, give a good hold and make reuse possible. Nail glue sticks harder and longer, but makes removal and reuse considerably trickier. Our advice: start with tabs, and only reach for glue if you want to wear a set for weeks.
How do I avoid air bubbles under the nail?
Air bubbles nearly always come from oil or moisture. Clean your nail thoroughly with the alcohol pad, stick the glue tab down smoothly on your own nail first, and press the press-on firmly from the centre outwards.
Why do I have to clean my nails first?
Sebum and oil on your natural nail break down the bond of the glue tab. One alcohol pad literally makes days of difference in wear time: it's the single most important step of the whole process.
Can I wash my hands straight after applying?
A quick rinse is fine, but avoid prolonged contact with water for the first 2 to 4 hours. The bond builds up during those hours; give your nails that time and you'll enjoy them for days longer.
What if a size doesn't quite fit?
When in doubt, always take the slightly larger size: you can easily file the sides down until the nail sits perfectly against your cuticle. Too small can't be fixed; too large can.
Wearing & care
Can I shower, swim and work out with them?
Yes, go right ahead. Just avoid prolonged contact with water in the first 2 to 4 hours after applying. Very long exposure to hot water (think sauna or a long bath) can shorten wear time a little.
Can I do the dishes and clean with them?
Certainly. If you do a lot of wet housework, wear gloves: it extends wear time considerably and protects your own nails too.
Do press-on nails hurt or feel bulky?
No. Soft gel is light and flexible and after a few hours feels like your own nail. If a nail feels genuinely tight or pinching, the size is too small: go one size up.
Do press-ons damage my own nails?
No, and that's exactly the big advantage over the salon. There's no drill and no UV lamp involved, and with glue tabs and the right removal technique (warm water and the cuticle stick) your own nail stays completely intact.
My nail comes loose after a few days: what am I doing wrong?
It nearly always comes down to the prep. Check these three: was your nail truly oil-free (alcohol pad)? Did you press the nail firmly for 15 to 30 seconds? And did you avoid water for the first few hours? Have a look at How it works; if it keeps happening, just email us and we'll think along with you.
Can I put nail polish or top coat over the press-ons?
You can, although it's a shame to cover the design. If you do use polish, only remove it with an acetone-free remover: acetone attacks the gloss layer of the nails.
Can I use hand cream, oil or sunscreen?
Use them as normal; only a lot of oil directly on the nail edges can weaken the bond over time. Moisturise your hands generously, just don't deliberately rub oil underneath the nail edges.
Removing & reusing
How do I remove the nails without damage?
Soak your nails in warm water for a few minutes, adding a drop of oil or soap if you like. Then gently ease them off from the side with the cuticle stick. Never pull off a dry nail: that's how you damage your own. The full step-by-step guide is on How it works.
How often can I reuse a set?
With careful use you can wear a set several times. The secret: remove them gently, clean them, store them in their box and use fresh glue tabs every time you wear them.
How do I get glue residue off the nails?
Warm water and a soft cloth do most of the work. Stubborn bits rub away with a drop of oil. Never use sharp objects: they scratch the inside.
How should I store my set?
Clean and dry in the original box, out of direct sunlight. That keeps the colour and shine beautiful for the next wear.
Can I order extra glue tabs separately?
Not yet. Every set comes with 150 glue tabs, more than enough to wear your set many times over. As soon as glue tabs can be ordered separately, you'll read it here.
Safety & materials
What are the nails made of?
High-grade soft gel that has been fully cured: light, flexible and with a salon-worthy finish. This is where we deliberately make no compromises: we work exclusively with the very best materials, and every set is made by hand by nail stylists with years of experience, whom we train continuously so they keep creating the most beautiful and unique designs. You can see and feel that difference. Questions about specific materials or ingredients? Email support@ladeleofficial.com.
Are press-ons suitable during pregnancy and for teenagers?
Press-ons with glue tabs are a gentle choice: no strong fumes, no UV lamp and no liquid glue involved. If you have any doubts about your personal situation, do check with your doctor. Not suitable for young children (small parts).
I have a gel polish allergy: can I still wear press-ons?
A gel polish allergy usually develops through contact with uncured gel in wet systems. Our press-ons are fully cured and your skin doesn't come into contact with wet gel. With a known allergy, use the glue tabs (not liquid glue), test one nail first and consult your GP or dermatologist if in doubt.
